Microsoft introduces a “deep research” AI-powered tool in Microsoft 365 Copilot, its AI Chatbot app.

There are a series of deep research agents recently launched on chatbots, including Openai’s Chatgpt, Google’s Gemini and Xai’s groc. The so-called reasoning of AI models is the so-called reasoning, which has the ability to think through problems and investigate themselves that are probably important to do in-depth research on a topic.

Researcher combines Openai’s deep research model – which has the company’s own chatgpt Deep Research tool – with ‘advanced orchestration’ and ‘deep search functions’. As far as the analyst is concerned, it is built on Openai’s O3 mini reasoning model and is ‘optimized to do advanced data analysis’, Microsoft said. Analyst progresses iteratively through problems, takes steps to refine the ‘thinking’ and gives a detailed answer to inquiries. Analyst can also perform the programming language python to tackle complex data inquiries, Microsoft added and exposed the ‘work’ for inspection.

What makes Microsoft’s deep research instruments a little more unique than the competition is their access to work data as well as the global web. For example, researcher can tap from third-party data chunks to use on data from AI agents, ‘tools, and programs such as Confluence, Servicenow and Salesforce.

Granted, the real challenge is to ensure that instruments such as researcher and analyst are not hallucinating or otherwise make up. Models including O3 mini and deep research are by no means perfect; They worked wrong from time to time, drawed wrong conclusions and drew from questionable public sites to inform their reasoning.

Microsoft begins a new border program through which Microsoft 365 Copilot customers can access researcher and analyst. Those enrolled in Frontier, who go forward, will only receive experimental headlot functions, which will get researcher and analyst in April.
