The iPhone 17 -air is Apple’s thinnest smartphone ever. According to Apple Insider Mark Gurman, the device is two millimeters thinner than the iPhone 16 Pro, which places its width at 6.25 mm.

In August, Gurman said the first iPhone Air model will be released with the iPhone 17 series. Apple’s air products are typically lighter, more affordable and less powerful than their standard counterparts, and it is claimed that the iPhone air replaces the Plus model.

iPhone 17 Air’s price, battery life and loading

In Gurman’s latest ‘Power on’ newsletter for Bloomberg he made a number of others Claims over the iPhone 17 -airincluding that it will be priced at ‘about $ 900’. This is the same price as the iPhone 16 Plus, which in turn strengthens how the air will serve as a substitute in the next iPhone generation.

Furthermore, the iPhone 17 -air offers a battery life that is “in line with the current iPhones”, although the battery pack is especially smaller. This achievement apparently took a “Herculean effort” of Apple Engineers. “(It is more than just an attempt to juice sales with something other than the rest of the series,” Gurman wrote. “It’s really a new start for the iPhone.”

European Richtlijn’s impact on the load option

Apple apparently considered making the iPhone 17 the first “fully gate -free iPhone”, the insider added. This would mean that all charges should be done wirelessly and that the synchronization must be done by iCloud, similar to the Apple Watch. Nevertheless, Cupertino eventually decided against it, mainly because of concerns about how European regulators can respond.

The European Common Laping-Richtlijn 2022/2380 mandates that sell the most devices in the region sold via USB-C to reduce E-waste and address market fragmentation. It came into effect in December, which Apple asked to terminate sales of the iPhone 14, iPhone 14 Plus and the third generation of iPhone’s in all EU member states, which still contain the Lightning loading port.

The Richtien played a major role in the company’s decision to add USB-C ports to the iPhone 15 series in 2023 and all newer devices. Europe is responsible for more than a Quarter of Apple’s total incomeSo the loss of its market would cost the business expensive.

iPhone 17 Air’s camera, screen size and launch

According to other leaks, the iPhone 17 Air’s camera design looks like reports like the Google Pixel. The single rear camera lens are mounted on an increased circular island that extends lengthwise all over the back of the phone and has 48 MP resolution. By comparison, the iPhone 16E has a 48 MP camera and costs $ 599, so the higher price of the new model probably reflects upgrades in other areas.

Leakers also claimed that the iPhone 17 Air’s screen will be 6.7 inches with a resolution of 2796 x 1290 pixels, and storage options will start at 128 GB. Gurman added that Apple was not with a 6.9-inch screen, “over the fear that a thin device with a giant screen would be susceptible to bending.”

Apple is expected to confirm in September details, which is the month when the company traditionally reveals its latest iPhone series.
